We invite you to join the Miraloma Park Improvement Club, the voice of your community. MPIC is committed to providing a forum to voice concerns and ideas, to help foster a caring community, and to improve the quality of life for all residents of Miraloma Park.

We accept all memberships that meet the following criteria:

1. member must be over 18 years of age and
2. either reside or own real estate within Miraloma Park or own business establishments in the Miraloma Park area.

Since 1937, MPIC has taken an active role in the issues effecting Miraloma Park, including:

Neighborhood safety

• Project Safe/Neighborhood Watch programs;
• Promote traffic controls;
• Promote responsible dog ownership/off-leash laws.

Graffiti abatement

• Participate in Clean City programs, litter removal

Disaster preparedness training

• National Emergency Response Teams (NERT).

SFO noise reduction

Open space preservation

• Helped save the historic cross on Mt. Davidson;
• Support native plant restoration.

City Hall Advocate

• Brought attention to Winter 1997-98 flood problems;
• Encourage responsible Bayview-Hunter’s Point waste water treatment;
• Helped renovate neighboring Sunnyside Recreation Center;
• Member of West of Twin Peaks Neighborhood Council;
• Member Coalition of San Francisco Neighborhoods;
• Joined Twin Peaks neighbors in opposing SutroTower extension.

Planning and Zoning

• Miraloma Park Residential Design Guidelines adopted by City Planning Commission;
• Encourage sensible retail development on Portola.

Clubhouse Parties and Events

• Regular MPIC general meetings, held monthly;
• Candidates Night for local elections;
• Garden Tours of neighborhood homes and community gardens.
